Discover: Glass Animals

If you ever need to groove in slow motion, like a lazy jellyfish or a lava lamp perhaps, Glass Animals should most definitely be your soundtrack... Especially this track.

Rediscover: Regina Spektor

I think what I like most about Regina Spektor is her lyrical content... Well, that and her phrasing... and the fact that she doesn't really fit a mold. That doesn't mean that I like all of her stuff ("That Time"), but much of it is brilliant ("Samson", "Laughing With", "All The Rowboats") and I do admire all of it.

Discover: Electric Guest

Whoa! Where did these guys come from? The lead singer cracks me up with his repetitive hand gestures, but I find them very intriguing musically... Definitely check out their album "Mondo".

Rediscover: David Gray

David Gray is one of those artists I often forget about for long periods of time, but every time I do remember to give him a listen, I'm always glad that I did. Has he really been putting music out for 20 years? Craziness! Cheers to you, Mr. Gray! Here's to 20 more years! Also, check out his most recent album, "Mutineers" that released yesterday.

Discover: Lindi Ortega

This week's discovery is Lindi Ortega. I'm digging her country western rock infusion.

Five For Friday: Picture Time!

This weekend, my wife and I are having pictures made! I'm pretty excited about this because we've never done a photo shoot and after 10 years of marriage, we have roughly 10 pictures of us; most of those being "selfies" from our phones. So to celebrate, here are five songs about photography!
Have a fantastic weekend!

Rediscover: Brett Dennen

The first time I heard Brett Dennen I thought he was a woman. There are a handful of artists I've mistaken for the opposite sex. Funny thing is it seems to always be artists/bands that I like. So the moral of the story is, if you're a woman that sounds like a man or a man that sounds like a woman, I will probably like your music... Unless you're Tiny Tim. But back to Brett Dennen. Check him out. It'll make you feel better.

Discover: Yellow Ostrich

I don't know exactly what it is about music like this, but I love it. Moody. Etherial. Driving. Good. Refreshing after being bombarded by the predictability of perfectly polished pop songs that clutter up a majority of the airwaves.

Five For Friday: 1979

My birthday is coming up this month so I figured I'd post some songs from the year I was born. Here's a look back at 1979. I'd say it was a good year for music. Have a great weekend!

Rediscover: The Parlor Mob

I was super excited when I discovered The Parlor Mob. I had been searching for some good Rock & Roll for months and all I could find was folk rock and hipster music. Then, lo and behold, The Parlor Mob! (and there was much rejoicing in the camp.) If you like Led Zeppelin you'll probably like these guys.

Discover: Ghostland Observatory

I came across Ghostland Observatory (again) the other day and I'm glad I did because I had forgotten to ever check them out last time I came across them. I really love their sound and I'd love to see them live. Their live performances seem highly entertaining what with the lights and dancing and Dracula-cape wearing and all... I really enjoy this music and f I could dance, I would dance to this. Then again, maybe I should even if I can't.
