Five For Friday: Black Friday (special edition)

While last week's playlist was all about wonderful, beautiful colors, this week's playlist is all about one color: black. Black Friday is here and you're probably going to have a pretty long day, so I've doubled up on the songs today. Have a wonderful day and I do hope you haven't already forgotten to be thankful for the friends and family and things that you do have (just in  case you missed out on buying whatever it is you stayed up all night to buy).

It's been a while since I've listened to these guys and I was reminded of them the other day when I came across their latest album at Barnes & Noble. It's a pretty good one albeit kind of slow and sleepy.

Fall has finally made it's way down to Savannah and we're starting to see the leaves turn all sorts of lovely colors. So in celebration, this week's playlist is all about Fall colors! Now get out there and enjoy a lovely weekend!

Rediscover: David Bazan

Years and years ago, I used to listen to Pedro The Lion. Then for some reason I stopped and kind of forgot about them... Then a few years ago I came across a video of David Bazan playing for Chase Jarvis' "Songs For Eating And Drinking" and once again forgot about him after a while... Then today I was at Graveface Records and came across a few of his albums. So I guess this is a re-rediscovery today. Anyway, I'm glad I came across him again.

Rediscover: Jakob Dylan

It's been quite a while since I've listened to Jakob Dylan/The Wallflowers. I like where he's at musically these days. He had me worried there for a little bit with the later Wallflowers albums, but I can't blame him for trying something new. "Bringing Down The Horse" is still one of my favorite albums. So many good songs! Anyway, you should check out his new stuff too.

FINALLY!!! I've been digging around the internet for the last couple of hours searching for something interesting and different and I've finally found it! Thank you, The Bots! These brothers are fantastic and I imagine if Jimi Hendrix had had kids it would probably be these guys. Check them out now!... really. Go. Now.

Rediscover: Radiohead

Some people are brilliant... and by "some people" I mean Radiohead. There is so much going on in their songs; so many different timings and nuances. It's some of the most aurally stimulating music that I know of. Plus it translates well to a stringed quartet (which is fantastic if you've never heard it).
