Discover: Reptar

This week, it's time to discover some Georgia music. I've been holding onto Reptar for a little while because I couldn't find any footage that I liked. But they recently did a gig at Audiotree and I always enjoy their videos. Reptar is pretty fun and energetic music to listen to (not to mention, horns are usually a plus for me). The only thing I don't like is the lead singer's tongue seems to keep falling out of his mouth while he sings. I don't know why little things that are weird to me, but there you have it.

Rediscover: Christ, Lord

Christ, Lord is a rambling, roving mashup of gypsy, vaudevillian, balkan music featuring trumpet, violin, guitar, upright bass, accordion, drums and occasionally tuba, vibraphone or anything else they can get ahold of. If you get a chance to see them live, go. That's the only way to get the full effect of their music.

PS: you will have a very strong urge to dance... even if you can't... especially if you can't.

Rediscover: Little Tybee

Just as the island of Little Tybee is larger than it's more popular sister island, Little Tybee is bigger than their name implies. There are so many little things going on; the details... the nuances. Their music just makes you feel good. Perfect for cruising around the beach on a bike while the salt-water wind kisses your skin and the ocean waves sing a never-ending song to the wide, blue sky.

Because sometimes you need some Metal in your life... I remember going to see these guys  a handful of times a loooooonnnngggg time ago when I was right out of high school and they were still called Luti-Kriss.
