I'm a little late on this weeks Discovery post, but here it is nonetheless. If you like old-timey/americana/railroad jazz, you'll probably like Woody Pines.
I love music and I love food, so this week's playlist is the best of both worlds: songs about food! I hope you have plenty of delicious food this weekend and don't forget to start planning your Thanksgiving meals. If you start shopping now, you might miss the masses in the next week or so.
It's been quite a while since I've listened to Jakob Dylan/The Wallflowers. I like where he's at musically these days. He had me worried there for a little bit with the later Wallflowers albums, but I can't blame him for trying something new. "Bringing Down The Horse" is still one of my favorite albums. So many good songs! Anyway, you should check out his new stuff too.
FINALLY!!! I've been digging around the internet for the last couple of hours searching for something interesting and different and I've finally found it! Thank you, The Bots! These brothers are fantastic and I imagine if Jimi Hendrix had had kids it would probably be these guys. Check them out now!... really. Go. Now.
This week's playlist is all about tools. Most of mine made it down here, but some of them didn't. I'll get back to building tables once I get them all down here.
I hope you have all the tools you need to enjoy a fantastic weekend! Let this playlist be one of them.
Some people are brilliant... and by "some people" I mean Radiohead. There is so much going on in their songs; so many different timings and nuances. It's some of the most aurally stimulating music that I know of. Plus it translates well to a stringed quartet (which is fantastic if you've never heard it).
If you're ever in the mood for some old timey jazz, check out The New Orleans Swamp Donkeys. Preferably live in a small, crowded bar or out in the streets.
