Five For Friday: Quiet

Shhhhhh... This week's playlist is all about quiet songs about being quiet... Have a nice, quiet holiday weekend.

Rediscover: Depeche Mode

When I was a kid, one of my friends was really in to Depeche Mode and listened to them all the time. His mom always called them Depressed Mode. 25 years later, they're still good... or depressing depending on who you are.  Enjoy (the silence)!

Discover: D.D Dumbo

Don't be fooled by the dumb(o) name, this guy is pretty great. I tend to be leery of people who perform by themselves, making loops on the fly to create all the music, but he does it quite well. His D.D Dumbo EP is an interesting listen. Check him out and learn more about him here.

Five For Friday x2: Georgia

This week's playlist is full of musicians from Georgia. We have a lot of good ones and I had a hard time keeping it to 5... So I didn't. This week you get 10 for the price of 5! And I still ended up having to leave out a bunch of bands/artists. Let's just say we have pretty much every genre covered pretty well. Who are some of your favorite bands from your neck of the woods?

Have a great weekend!

Rediscover: Band Of Horses

I don't know exactly what it is, but I love their sound. Maybe it's the honesty of his voice and the simplicity of the music. I don't know, but I'm really digging their most recent album, "Acoustic at The Ryman (Live)". They sound so good live! I'm going to do my darnedest to see them live next time they come around.

Discover: The Revivalists

New Orleans turns out some freaking great music and The Revivalists are no exception. Funky rock 'n' roll with horns and pedal steel? I'll take it! Also, the lead singer looks like Keith Richards.

Five For Friday: School

School is back in full swing so this week's playlist is all about school subjects! What is/was your favorite subject? Here's to a great school year for all of you students and teachers!
